Shutter Door Message Center

05/23/14, by Cate Seiser

It's not unusual to have some sort of message center in an entryway, kitchen, or office — a place to stash memos and grab-on-the-go items. The problem is that since the very purpose of message centers is to collect clutter, they usually look cluttered.

That's why we came up with an attractive cabinet-style version. To cover the contents inside the case (which you can build yourself), we added a pair of 15" x 25" window shutters. Non-mortise hinges and small butler pantry latches make it easy and lend a stylish look. Open up this week's eNote for complete construction details.
