Elegant ginkgo leaf motifs float across these grasscloth headboard panels. Create an atmosphere of serenity by making them yourself with a few simple materials and our easy steps.
Serene Sleep. To get started on this peaceful accent, cut two 12”x18” panels and one 12”x32” panel from ½” MDF. You’ll also need two different colors of grasscloth wallpaper that are 1” longer and wider than each of the panels. Also cut a Kraft paper template that matches the size of each panel.
Create a template for your leaves on a piece of paper, and then cut them out. Arrange the leaves on the Kraft paper template as desired. Then trace and cut the leaves with a craft knife.
Stack each pair of grasscloth sheets, tape them together, and then tape your Kraft paper template to the backside of the grasscloth stacks. Cut the leaf shapes, slicing through both layers of grasscloth.
Apply the grasscloth pieces with the leaf cutout openings to the MDF panels using spray-mount adhesive. Fold the edges as shown to achieve a smooth corner.
Finish the panels by gluing contrasting grasscloth leaves into the openings. Then mount the MDF panels to the wall above your bed.
