Cut a Clean Opening with Your Jigsaw

Many projects call for a hole or opening in the middle of a piece. No tool does this more efficiently than a jigsaw.

Simple Center Cut. To get started, you’ll just need to create an entry point for the jigsaw blade. That’s easily accomplished by drilling a starter hole that’s large enough to insert the blade into.

If you’re cutting a circular opening, you’ll need one starter hole as shown in the photo. If you’re cutting a rectangular opening, drill your starter holes at opposite corners, and then cut all four sides.
