Get the Best Results from Painter’s Tape

Paint departments in home centers offer many tape options to protect the surfaces you don’t want to paint. These options include some more expensive specialty tapes that cost more than ordinary masking tape. But are they worth the extra money?

Crisp, Clean Results. Blue painter’s tape and green tape like FrogTape are both better than masking tape. Blue tape is designed so that the adhesive won’t ruin the surface you’re masking, and it does a decent job of giving you clean lines. FrogTape costs more, but with a paint-activated treatment that seals the edges, it earns our top recommendation.
