When we saw this three-drawer chest, we knew it was destined for a more functional life as a kitchen cart. We started by replacing the top with a more durable butcher block slab. Then we removed the top drawer and lined the opening with plywood to create a shelf.
Storage on the Move. Some bun feet and casters turned the piece into a cart. We replaced the drawer pulls with knobs, painted the base green, and sanded it in places to get a rustic look. Then we finished the piece with brown glaze, and added handy towel hooks to the side.
