It's easy to give a furniture piece a dramatic makeover by adding a charming cushion.
Personalized Seating. Here, we decided to convert a rustic old trunk into a cushioned bench. A grain sack provided the perfect material to upholster the country-style piece.
The filler for this cushion is a pillow insert, which is the perfect size for the trunk we used. We removed some of the pillow's filling to flatten it a bit, and then just stuffed it into a grain sack.
Next, we drove upholstery tacks through the grain sack and into the top of the trunk. You'll want to make sure that the tacks are evenly spaced for a professional look.
The finished piece provides a fun focal point for the room. You can also store extra linens inside, and guests will find it to be a comfortable spot to sit.
